Survivor 01--Chapter 3-- Lin Xianxian-[02]

"Ah!!!"

A scream rang out beside him. The metal bed frame emitted a harsh "creaking" sound as the person on the bed shifted. Ye Fei furrowed his brow in annoyance, rolled over, folded the pillow, and covered his ears.

"Fuck... I'm still alive!"

Zhou Zhengning, who was lying on the bed opposite, subconsciously touched his body. He was still in shock, and only felt relieved after confirming that his heart, which had just been crushed by the dormitory aunt, was still beating in his chest.

The fear and pain brought by death just now were too real, which made him unable to tell whether it was a dream or reality.

Zhou Zhengning calmed down and habitually opened his information bar to take a look.

His life status dropped from healthy to good.

It seemed that everything just now was not a dream.

【Ding--】

【Players, please enjoy Lin Xianxian's wonderful day together】

The system sound was all-round and stereoscopic. Even if Ye Fei tried hard to cover his ears, he could still hear it.

He remembered that Big Pudding had said before that this game copy was "survival-oriented" and the time limit was only one day. At that time, Big Pudding thought this game was simple, but now it seems that things are far from as easy as he thought.

Ye Fei let go of the pillow, turned over, and half-opened his eyes to look at the numbers on the electronic clock on the wall that started counting again:

"March 16, 3035 0:00"

Ye Fei sighed, a little helpless:

"Time loop."

Time loop.

Ye Fei sat up and glanced at Zhou Zhengning, glimpsing the "good" life value on his information bar.

Ye Fei raised his eyebrows slightly and asked:

"How many ratings are there for this value?"

Zhou Zhengning was stunned for a moment, counting on his fingers:

"Healthy, good, general, poor, endangered, zero. Six."

Ye Fei nodded, counted on his fingers, and sighed again:

"So, I have to die four more times with you guys before this ends, trouble."

Zhou Zhengning didn't understand what he meant at first, nor did he think of this level, but after hearing what he said, he finally realized it.

This was originally a survival game, so it would be a bit absurd if it could be played in an infinite loop. Just now, the first round ended and he dropped a level. So, this game should be able to be played five times in total.

In other words, they had to complete the day within five times... and now there were only four times left.

Zhou Zhengning frowned, his expression a little solemn. He retorted sullenly:

"Cheer up, Mr. Ye, don't be pessimistic. The last time was just an accident. We can pass the level and no one will die. C-level games are not that difficult. If you can't do it, I will protect you. Don't give up."

This big pudding doesn't seem to be very smart.

Ye Fei on the opposite side looked up at him, laughed softly, and repeated in an ambiguous tone:

"You'll protect me?"

Ye Fei had been locked up in an underground laboratory by the White Tower's top brass for five years. All kinds of torture had been tried on him, and this "game" was naturally a new round of torture.

It doesn't matter what happens. He is best at living in despair. He has been living like this for so many years anyway, and he has long been used to it.

But Pudding'suse of the word "protection" surprised Ye Fei a little, he was obviously just a stranger.

He ended his salted fish act of lying flat on his back, sat up from the bed, stretched his neck, and lowered his head to slightly straighten his wrinkled shirt hem.

Then, he looked at the other side, Mr. Dali who was wearing a plaid shirt.

In order to avoid the same unpleasantness as last week, Ye Fei whistled at him and asked his opinion in advance:

"Dear Mr. Plaid, can I open the door and bring Lin Xianxian in now?"

"Although his tone was questioning, he had already stood up."

He smiled at Zhang Shang, his tone very friendly:

I know you hate me, and I don't want to hang around and be annoying, but we are grasshoppers on the same boat now, and you may have to be wronged to share a room with me for a short time. As the saying goes, cooperation leads to win-win results. If you agree to open the door, I will go. If you don't agree then... just bear with it, because I am an arbitrary and annoying guy".

Ye Fei chatted casually and walked towards the door as if taking a stroll.

Zhang Shang stared at his back with a pale face and silently clenched his teeth.

After last failed attempt, Zhang Shang also understood that this game required them to protect Lin Xianxian. Even if Ye Fei didn’t say it, he would have opened the door to and bring Lin Xianxian in this time.

But now Ye Fei was obviously taking revenge on him for questioning him just now. This man was too vindictive. Those words that appeared polite but were actually threatening and sarcastic made him feel that his self-esteem was being trampled upon.

He could have talked to him nicely, but he just had to jab at him like that. What kind of superiority was he showing-?

 The

familiar feeling of humiliation weighed on Zhang Shang, but facing Ye Fei who was obviously stronger than him, he could only grit his teeth and muffledly reply:

"……whatever."

"Thank you, you are such a considerate person."

Ye Fei turned the door handle and the door lock made a slight "click" sound.

The voice-controlled light outside the door turned on, and the cold white light came in from the gap at the bottom of the door.

A little girl was huddled against the wall near the dormitory door, hugging her legs with her face buried between her knees. She looked up when she heard the noise.

[Main NPC: Lin Xianxian]

Ye Fei leaned against the door frame, tilted his head slightly, and looked at her:

"What are you doing sitting here in the middle of the night? Aunt will scold you if she sees you. Come in quickly."

Lin Xianxian raised her eyes and stared at him. When she saw Ye Fei, she seemed to be in a trance for a moment.

She had short hair, a small, oval face, big, bright eyes, and looked well-behaved and pretty.

She quickly lowered her eyes and looked away. Without saying anything, she stood up with the help of the wall. However, she did not enter the room. Instead, she lowered her head and rubbed her calves.

"Are your legs numb from squatting? Can you walk?"

Ye Fei asked casually. Seeing Lin Xianxian nodded and shook her head hesitantly, he simply picked up the child.

The little girl was very thin and small, and felt light when she was held in his arms.

Ye Fei closed the door with his foot, carried the little girl directly to her bedside and put her down. He sat beside her and asked very naturally:

"What classes are there tomorrow? I dont remember the schedule."

Lin Xianxian glanced at him and quickly lowered her eyes.

She spoke in a soft voice:

"I don't remember it clearly either. There is a timetable in the classroom. You can check it tomorrow morning."

"Oh, have you done your homework? Didn't the teacher say it should be handed in tomorrow? Can I borrow it to copy? I'll treat you to breakfast tomorrow."

Ye Fei's tone was very natural, as if he really was a third-grade elementary school student who was anxious to make up his homework before going to school tomorrow.

"It's not good to copy homework..."

"Hey, just this once, please."

After hearing what Ye Fei said, Lin Xianxian hesitated for a moment, then slowly took out a few exercise books from the small schoolbag next to her handed them to Ye Fei, and even told him the page numbers attentively.

Ye Fei thanked her, hummed a song, and returned to his desk, found the exercise books from the small schoolbag with his name printed on it, took out a wooden pencil from somewhere, and really started to copy the homework seriously.

Zhou Zhengning was stunned by the way they were getting along as if they were old acquaintances.

He quickly found his schoolbag, moved a stool sat next to Ye Fei, and asked:

"Teacher Ye, is the homework a clue? How do you know we have to do our homework?"

Ye Fei looked at him as if he was a fool, and answered while sharpening a pencil with a pencil sharpener:

"There is a schoolbag with your name on it and an exercise book on the bed. It's weird, but the meaning is obvious, right? According to the mechanism of this game, we are students now, and we must abide by school rules. If you don't go to bed on time, the dormitory aunt will come to take your head. Guess what will happen if you don't hand in your homework tomorrow? The teacher is much scarier than the dormitory aunt."

"Really? Why wasn't it like this when I was in elementary school?" Zhou Zhengning imitated Ye Fei, sharpened the pencil and held it in his hand.

"This game is set in the year 3035, more than a hundred years ago. There was no AI teaching or answering questions on the screen at that time."

Hearing Ye Fei say this, Zhou Zhengning touched his chin and looked at him:

"Teacher Ye, you are not that old, how come you seem to know so much about this?"

"You call me like that... don't you know what I did before? It's hard not to know." Ye Fei shrugged.

But after a pause, he looked at Zhou Zhengning and suddenly asked:

"Hey, let me ask you a question... How old do you think I look?

Zhou Zhengning didn't know why he asked this, but he still looked at him carefully and felt that it was hard to tell.

However, he calculated that Ye Fei was only in his twenties before he disappeared from the public eye. Now, five years have passed, so he should be about...

"Around .... Thirty years old... ?"

Ye Fei nodded, looking like he had made some kind of hasty decision:

"Twenty-nine then."

"???"  Zhou Zhengning felt that Ye Fei's words were a bit strange. He hesitated for a long time, but decided to shut up and lower his head to do his homework.

The dormitory was very quiet at this time. Lin Xianxian went to rest after she came back. The only sound in the room was the friction between the pen tips and paper pages as the three people concentrated on doing their homework.

Ye Fei looked at the last additional question in mathematics and habitually turned the pen while thinking.

After a moment, his hand stopped moving, the pencil turned half a circle, and fell on the table with a "click".

He heard the shuffling of slippers outside the door again.

Ye Fei suddenly stood up from the stool, and the small wooden stool slid back a bit due to his movement. The sound attracted Zhou Zhengning and Zhang Shang to look over

Ye Fei ignored them, ran to the door in a few steps and turned off the ceiling light.

The cold white light suddenly went out, plunging the room into darkness.

"What are you doing? I haven't finished my homework yet."

Although Zhang Shang was dissatisfied, he still remembered to lower his voice when questioning.

He didn't wait for Ye Fei's answer, because the sound of slippers coming from far away outside the door had already given him the answer.

Ye Fei leaned sideways against the wall beside the door, and the coldness of the wall could be felt through the clothes on his back.

He looked down at the ground. The voice-controlled light in the corridor slipped in through the gap at the bottom of the door, spreading a patch of light.

The person outside the door walked very slowly, and after a while, a shadow passed through the light from the gap under the door and walked from one side to the other.

The sound of slippers slipping on the ground faded away.

After a while, the light under the door dimmed and it was dark again.

Zhang Shang sat in his seat and waited for a while. He heard no sound outside the door. He was waiting for Ye Fei to turn on the light again so that he could continue writing the questions.

But Ye Fei did not move for a long time.

Zhang Shang was a little annoyed. He stood up and walked to the door in the faint moonlight coming from outside the window, and asked impatiently in a low voice:

"Didn't the person already leave? Why aren't you turning on the light?"

Ye Fei ignored him and only whistled softly as response.

Zhang Shang gritted his teeth. He always felt that Ye Fei looked down on him, and now he was probably targeting him to embarrass him.

Since Ye Fei was so mysterious and wont say anything, he would see it himself.

Thinking like this, Zhang Shang imitated Ye Fei's actions in the previous attempt, raised his hand to touch the corner of the poster on the door, and peeled it off, revealing the broken peephole under the poster.

He took a look, but it was pitch black outside the door and he could not see anything.

Zhang Shang knocked on the door with his fingers.

According to his experience with Ye Fei and Zhou Zhengning, the voice-controlled light outside the door was very sensitive and would light up when knocked. But this time, for some reason, all he saw was  a blur of darkness.

Zhang Shang was a little impatient and knocked twice more, and the door panel made two muffled "dong dong" sounds.

Is this light broken? Zhang Shang took a half step back and subconsciously glanced at Ye Fei beside him.

Ye Fei was still standing there. He stood in the darkness, leaning against the wall with his arms folded, staring straight at Zhang Shang, with no emotion in his eyes.

He didn't say anything, but just clicked his tongue at Zhang Shang, then raised his eyebrows slightly and looked down.

Zhang Shang was stunned for a moment. At that moment, he had a vague guess in his mind. A chill instantly rushed up along his spine to the top of his head, and he broke out in a cold sweat.

His body was a little stiff. He swallowed hard and looked down at his feet little by little with great difficulty.

The ground beneath his feet was covered with the cold light of the voice-controlled lights that slipped in through the cracks.

But it was not a whole piece. The light surface was split in the middle by a shadow and torn into two irregular halves.

Zhang Shang began to tremble uncontrollably and finally raised his eyes to the position of the peephole.

The light outside the door was on, but,no light could be seen through the peephole.

Someone was standing outside the door...

The darkness he saw was the eyes of the person outside the door looking in.

Realizing this, Zhang Shang trembled and took a half step back. His legs softened and he almost fell to the ground.

It was at that time that a shrill laugh came from outside the door, which was particularly clear in the quiet room.

The voice came from the door, a little muffled:

"Let me see..."

"Who are those bad kids who haven't gone to bed yet?"
